Relatively new to cruising, having only cruised to Alaska, Hawaii and Mexico, in the past.

My wife told me that this 8-day cruise was the best vacation we have ever had. Why? We chose to make this Carnival cruise a means to find enjoyment in being together, taking advantage of the ports and what the ship offered.

Choosing to go the value way, allowing for more cruises, we opted for an inside cabin. Adding magnetic motion lights to illuminate the floor, when the lights were off. Adding magnetic hooks and bathroom door shoe organizer, we found ample storage for everything. These facilitated a more enjoyable cruising experience.

Interior

Plenty of storage for the 8 day cruise. Shower with curtain, but it was fine for us.

Port Reviews

Freeport

Too industrial and still barely recovering from the hurricane and Covid. They have a long way to go to become a destination for us.

Half Moon Cay

Despite the lack of a pier, requiring water shuttle, this is a superior cruise destination. Having been there once, I now know what activities to focus on with the next visit in 2024. Carnival offers great options for quiet individual all the way to active options.

Key West

Key West is still Key West, with plenty to do, see and experience. 100% safe. The ease of walking right into town from the ship added to the delight of being there. For those who have been to Key West, there are sufficient options to make each visit unique.

Nassau

Next time we visit Nassau, we will focus on Carnival offered excursions. We did our own walking tour of town and ended cutting it short. The shopping right off the ship, on Bay Street, was a good experience. Prudent judgment was needed to know where to use a card vs. cash. There is a Starbucks with wifi on Bay Street to hang our in air conditioning and catch up with the real world back home. When next there in 2024 we will probably go with the spendy Atlantis option.
