I never liked cruises (the dress codes, limited dinner hours, buffet style foods, mediocre tasting foods, array of additional fees and items that are not included, the list goes on…). Virgin operates completely different and I loved every minute of it. I planned this trip as a gift to my fiancé and was not expecting to love it as much as I did. The people on this cruise were so diverse - all ages (except kids), backgrounds, etc. The food was INCREDIBLE - and that’s a lot coming from me. The entertainment was so fun and had a little more spice than your typical cruise show since there were no kids.. and again should I say NO KIDS?! The ship was built out so thoughtfully.. There’s a more quiet section for those who want to relax, a fun party section of the boat for those who want to dance and drink by the pool and the section that’s “all in between”. Everyone on the ship was having a blast. I spoke to multiple people who have been on multiple cruise ship lines and they said Virgin has been their best experience by far. I do not disagree! Virgin Voyages is a bit unorthodox in the way they operate compared to other cruise lines and that is THE BEST PART. Dinner reservations at the time YOU want, no stuffy dress codes, wait staff for all meals, no speciality restaurants (all restaurants included), the rooms were new, beautiful and large. The staff was so quick with any requests and so welcoming remembering you by name and always checking in. Seriously the best hospitality I’ve ever seen. You can tell Virgin takes great care of their crew members. I never thought I’d rant this much about what a great cruise line this is but I’m already planning 2 more trips.
