Cabin: Cove Balcony

We did a back-to-back on this ship for the itinerary, southern Caribbean. Number one this ship is definitely showing it's age. Rust all over the place, seating in the buffet needs replacing, and doors not shutting correctly or broken. We had a cove balcony which we normally love, but on this cruise, they decided to paint the lifeboat stanchions and we had paint chips raining down on us, and constant loud banging and grinding going on. Then they didn't clean the balcony afterwards. We told the steward about it, and they said it would be cleaned but it was not. You pay for a balcony, and you expect to be able to use it. We spoke to other passengers, and they said theirs was worse than ours. Our shower clogged up and we called about it and they came and fixed it or so they thought, once we flushed the toilet it all blew back out of the shower drain. After much labor by the plumber, they got it fixed. The room steward was wonderful.

Food was edible but not much else. Had steak one night and it was so tough I asked for a chainsaw to cut it. Totally inedible. The fish most nights was way overcooked and hard to eat. And everything had an odd taste to it. One our fellow cruisers said he thought it was a curry flavor. The wait staff was great as usual just overworked. The buffet was very bland the same food most nights and everything tasted the same.

Entertainment was one of the worst we have seen on a Carnival ship. The singers were not qualified and could not dance hardly at all. The theater shows need a lot of work.

Cabin Review

Cove Balcony

Cove balcony, old and worn out. Lots of rust on the balcony, and constant paint chips falling on us. Needs lots of updating.
