We are geeks and chose the ship because of the size, the Gardens, and the space to do things. Every day I would discover new areas of the ship that I had not seen before. There were endless activities, walking the promenade, the boardwalk, etc. and enjoying all the restaurants was amazing. We enjoyed the people on the cruise and made a lot of friends. We did not see out of control kids (as has been reported before) and most everybody was respectful. I felt the staff was on task and wanting to make a difference. We were greeted constantly when we walked around the ship. Although there were 6500 people we did not feel overwhelmed by the numbers because they were so well balanced amongst all the floors. There could be lines in the dining room, but we rarely waited more than 10 minutes. There were times when the solarium was crowded and the pools were full but we figured out when to go and enjoy them when people were at dinner or in a show. We especially loved the Jacuzzi in the solarium every night, and we sat under the stars with never more than two couples enjoying it with us. My husband says he never wants to go on a smaller ship. We could not go to Costa Maya because of the weather, but there was plenty to do on the ship as they added more activities. We found the food in the dining room nearly excellent. Everything is fancy and somewhat gourmet. We are vegetarian, and sometimes we missed plain food like a veggie burger and potatoes. Instead we had Greek moussaka, Squash risotto, polenta fries, etc. But I guess trying new foods is always fun. The waiters bent over backwards to serve us. it really upset me when I would hear a customer rate a waiter because their food wasn’t out on time. Good grief, they’re serving 4000 or more people all at the same time. I don’t know how they do it. I also heard a steward being lectured in a hallway by two administrative women who were over him, asking him to repeat, “I will do better from now on“. Other than that, trivia, karaoke, the scavenger hunt, shopping, watching the competitions were all fun. We have been on other ships but the entertainment on the ship was amazing. The aqua wasn’t our style, but the participants sure knew how to amaze people, Cats was great and the ice show was like done by experts. Amazing. And that this quality was on a ship. We had a balcony room and it was very private. We loved the privacy of our balcony room and felt comfortable keeping our curtains open, as they are styled in a way that people cannot see in them unless they were on another ship in port. Our cabin steward was friendly and tops. embarkation could’ve gone smoother if they had kept the schedule instead, they excused everybody at the same time, and we all bunched up in a mass of bodies, elevators were difficult to get. it is more expensive than other lines, but it seems to make a difference when you pay for this line to cruise on.

Connecting Balcony

We were in 12616 end it was midship, perfect for us. I only had one day of seasickness, and I slept it off on Bonine. So glad I was on midship. We loved our steward. She was a doll.
