We have cruised for 20 years. We have cruised many times with Royal Carribean. We chose Brillance of the Seas for ports of call Cozumel and Caymans and a smaller ship. Our experience on this ship was mixed. The embarkation went fast and smooth. The food was really good. We were disappointed on anytime dining. We had a reservation and still had to wait in one line with others without reservation. Formal night dress code was not enforced in dining room which took away from the cruise experience. I’m sitting in a formal gown with all the bling and next table over are wearing tank tops and flip flops. Dining chairs were worn and cracked. Entertainment shows was average. Ports of call was really nice and easy on and off the ship. The pools are too small and ship needs to be refurbished. It needs new carpeting throughout, new windows, railings were bear wood on our balcony. The windows on ship were never cleaned. The balcony windows and sliding doors were never cleaned. The ship looks old and outdated.

Our bathroom sink was old and cracked and rust on the mirror. The cabinetry in our room was nicked up and very worn. The sheets on our bed was stained. The sun chairs were tied down and could not be moved. Jogging track is on the sun deck instead of the promenade deck which interferes with people in sun chairs. The promenade deck was open and it was pretty cool to walk out to the front of the boat where the helicopter pad is. One side of the deck was filled with chairs and ashtrays for smokers. The other side was filled with sun chairs which we did not understand. No nice benches or padded seating with tables. Service was pretty good but sometimes long waits at pool bars to get drinks. This is a self serve ship. Get it yourself or go without. Not enough activities on this ship. We got bored easily. Disembarkation needs improvement. Long slow lines getting off the ship and waited 45mins on bus to leave for airport. Overall this ship needs refurbished. This cruise was very affordable.
