This was our first cruise with Azamara and chose the cruise particularly because it visited South Africa. The itinerary gave us the opportunity to spend time in Cape Town and also visit some of the less well known ports. You are given the opportunity to book the ship's tours before boarding which is a good idea as some tours are very limited in size. The tours are mainly aimed at safaris but we booked private tours before leaving the UK quite easily. Tours on Azamara are expensive just like other cruise lines.
The ship is well maintained and public areas are maintained to a very good standard. We were in a Veranda plus staeroom which adequately met our needs with very good storage space and a balcony. The bathroom was small and the bed very comfortable .
The public areas never seemed crowded or noisy and there was only one child on the sailing who was the daughter of one of the entertainers. On this sailing there were 637 guests of which 401 were from the UK.
Club Veranda Plus stateroom.
We were in 8011. The bed was comfortable and the cabin had great storage. There was a small balcony with a table and chairs. Our stateroom attendant Lei-Lyn was superb.
