Quite a few years ago we took a trip to PNG on the Golden Princess. It was a tired old ship and with its bird beak bow, rear end that made it look like a shopping trolley and a bridge held up by two poles it looked a rather comical. Also it was a bit of a rabbit warren and had a small badly designed buffet area.

Two and a half years ago we noticed that P&O Australia had a cruise planned for PNG on their new ship the Pacific Adventure. We wanted to go again and so we booked, Later I discovered we were back on the dreaded Golden Princess.

Then came Covid, and after numerous cancellations and changes the PNG trip finished up being a trip to the Pacific Islands including Lifou and the Isle of Pines. Then they were dumped and replaced with Noumea.
