We chose celebrity Apex, knowing it was a newer ship, the good reviews, the port stops and a smaller ship. The Apex is a beautiful ship, new with all the bells and whistles. Very well maintained!
Our cabin was roomy with storage in every nook and cranny. Usually I feel like we are overflowing but it is well planned out and comfortable. Bedding and selected pillow choices available. We did not feel crowded at all. This is part due to the balcony is part of the room so makes the room larger. On the bad side, I hated the slide down balcony window. It was not a balcony but just a large slide down window in your room. I so missed being able to sit out in the balcony enjoying the whole ocean view. Looking through a window that needed outside washing was such a disappointment. Our cabin steward, Sulta, was great, very professional and seemed by magic to have our room serviced whenever we left the room? I did miss having towel animals at night on our bed. The chocolate on the pillow just not the same joy to return to. The only reasonI rated the cabin a 3 was because of the balcony, otherwise it would be a 5.co
The food, we were very disappointed in our food experiences on the Apex. It has four different main restaurants that seem to just rotate food options. Nothing to rave over. My husband did not appreciate having to always change into long pants to eat. I too missed getting to know table mates. However some tables were close enough to visit with the next table. The cafeteria buffet was good and had many choices and options though, but noisy. So not like elegant dining you expect, so we did not eat there at nights. We tried to get a reservation for one of the exclusive restaurants that you pay extra for. We did not book this before we left, thinking why pay $60.00 per person for a different restaurant. Once on the ship and eating at the mediocre food we tried to get a reservation, but all booked.
