My hubby and I chose this ship because we are long-time Parrotheads and members of various Jimmy Buffett fan clubs, enjoying his type of music and beachy lifestyle. This Feb 20th cruise was the day after getting off the larger NCL Encore ship in Miami. We would be driving home from Florida and it sounded like fun to try out this short, 2-night cruise to tell our friends about and extend our vacation a few nights. Plus, they offered a "Free" cruise for veterans so the price seemed right since I'd just pay for myself.
The ship sailed from Palm Beach, a small port where Valet parking was the only option at $22 day. We didn't really want to leave our car keys with strangers in a lot for a few days but had no choice but to trust them. This worked out OK without problems.
Although this ship is a 32-year old refurbished Costa ship, we loved the true Buffett and pretty Island-style decor throughout the ship. The crew was great; very attentive and fun. Loved the deck parties and music and bands, and the theater show "Escape to Margaritaville" and other entertainment. The piano bar sing-along was fun with John Massay who is also the musical director was great. This ship is good if you like old time ships without balconies and no large selection of foods, just typical American cuisine. The staterooms were large enough, the shower small, and the ship is showing its age behind the scenes if you look close. And some strange smells in hallways every once in awhile. Only one 110 and one 220 outlet per cabin so plan accordingly.
