To be remembered, made my day - totally unexpected. Last week my wife and I boarded the Discovery Princess in LA for a four day cruise with around 3,000 other passengers. A year ago we sailed on the same ship on its maiden voyage for a four day cruise to Vancouver, so we knew the layout of the ship as as we boarded last week we headed straight to one of the restaurants for lunch. We joined the line waiting to be seated, and when we reached the front of the line, one of the restaurant managers, Vitalli Kotukhov spotted us and came over, shook my hand and said welcome back, so good to see you again. He was from the Ukrane and on the last trip we talked about his family and he was so pleased to see us again. For the rest of the cruise we had table for 2 by a window and greeted every day and made to feel very special. It shows the value taking time to talk to people and how it can impact other people’s lives.
The ship, now just a year old is amazing, built in Italy, with Italian marble and glass everywhere. The quality of the ship is matched by the quality of the food and service. Everyone on the ship works hard looking for a ten out of ten rating on the survey they send to you after the voyage. We would have given 15 out of 10 if we could.
There is something to do every day on the ship and the evening entertainment first class. They even provided a tour of the kitchens so you can see where they produce the incredible range of foods.
Excellent, well fitted out and extremely comfortable. Loved the patio doors and the balcony.
