This was our first cruise with Regent. We've travelled with Viking, Windstar, Poinant, and others. The Navigator cruise from Barbados to Barbados looked like a nice itinerary. The cruise itself was very nice and the crew and food were great, on a par with Viking. There were a couple of issues shouldn't have happened on Regent.

The main issue was the absolutely chaotic transfer from the Hilton Hotel to the ship. We were told to be downstairs at 11am to be at the ship at 11:30. More than half the guests on the cruise were at the Hilton. We stood around for more than an hour until someone from the subcontractor showed up. There were elderly people and we had to raid the ballroom to get them chairs to sit on.

At noon someone showed up followed by some buses at 12:30. We boarded the buses. When the buses were full someone came and told everyone to get off the buses and drag their suitcases to the van. After 50 people did that the rest of us refused. Instead we identified that the bags were there.

Cabin Review

Window Suite

The cabin was very nice. But seeing the Penthouse cabins are exactly the same as cheaper cabins, I wouldn't bother to upgrade again. The butler was sweet but didn't add much to the trip. The free upgrade was nice but I wouldn't pay for it.
