Asia had been on my bucket list for 20 years. The original plan was to travel in 2020 just as the Covid-19 pandemic hit so the trip was postponed 3 times. We finally decided on the Magnificent Mekong Tour since it covered 3 countries: Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. We did take advantage of both the pre-cruise extension to Ha Long Bay and the post-cruise extension to Bangkok. Viking does a fantastic job of providing their guests with excellent excursions with local guides, great on board meals and entertainment. The entire trip was awesome with one WOW moment after another. When I needed medical attention due to an infected toe, our local guide made arrangements and accompanied me to the local international hospital emergency room in Siam Reap, Cambodia. The medical attention and facility was first rate and I was in and out within 2 hours. We look forward to taking our next river cruise with Viking in January 2025 down the Nile River.
