We chose Viking based on the size of the ship and the destinations it offered. We especially were drawn to the fact that there were no children allowed and there was no casino on board.(we do no partake in the gambling on a cruise). The state rooms had nice space and storage was well thought out. The heated floor in the bathroom was an especially nice treat. The shower was large compared to other cruise ships we have been on. The ship was beautifully appointed overall and had many quiet little areas to enjoy. The pool area was nice with plenty of towels and bar service in close proximity. The afternoon tea @ 4pm each day was another nice touch we had not encountered on any other cruise line. The food at all of the restaurant offerings were varied and all excellent. The staff was excellent and were available and attentive to our every need. The port talks the day before every port of call, were very informative and entertaining. The lectures given about the areas about to be visited were educational and informative. The excursions offered were very well thought out and and were a great way to get a feel for the culture and history of the ports of call. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and would highly recommend Viking to anyone who asked. (And have)
The cabin was very nicely appointed and storage was well thought out. The desk area was of a good size and one side opened up to a makeup mirror as well. (My wife especially thought that was a nice touch.) the balcony had plenty of room with its 2 chairs and table. The stateroom had a very comfortable king bed with 2 night stands and 2 side chairs with a coffee table. The bathroom was good size with storage on either side of the sink and 2 drawers on either side as well. The heated floor in the bathroom was a nice addition. The shower was roomy compared to other cruise lines we have been on. Overall we were very please and satisfied with the stateroom.
