We chose this cruise because it was advertised as going deep into Antarctica to the Ross Sea and beyond to New Zealand .The ship itself is tremendous, first class all the way And the house keeping and kitchen staff were superb. I found the expedition staff not the same. I didn't think several were customer oriented and few had even been down in that area. The issue is with where we did not get. We spent many days at sea with zero stops. This was caused by 3 events that required evacuations costing 3+ days .As a result to keep on schedule, we sailed with very few stops; not seeing McMurdo, missing Scott and Shackleton's huts. The return voyage I may note seems to be doing all we didn't, so if you want to spend upwards of 50K take the later trip in Feb. Or take this trip with tour that has helicopters for many thousands less and better chances of seeing icebound sites .My" trip of a lifetime" has left me very angry.
