Cabin: Junior Suite with Balcony

This is our our twelfth cruise all with RC. Second year in a row on the Odyssey. We had a junior suite. The cabin was great, no complaints whatsoever. The cabin attendant was excellent as usual. This ship has many positives and a few negatives. On the positive side the IFLY and Flow rider are awesome. The service was good and all employees were friendly and attentive. On the negative side. We worked to get Diamond Status. It really doesn't give you much on this ship except 4 free drinks a day and access to a small lounge. It would be nice if Diamonds and above had access to the suite deck. The pool was extremely crowded during sea days. The design of the ship made it feel even more so. 90% of the time the suite deck area was empty. RC seems to have cut back on some niceties. For example on past cruises if you had a drink package the cups for the Coke freestyle machines were in your stateroom. Not anymore, this year we had to get ours at one of the bars. A little nitpicky, but just things we really enjoyed. The service in the dining room was great, however the food was just average. The chef's seemed a little heavy handed on the salt. The Lunch in the Wind Jammer again seemed mediocre in the food choices compared to previous years. The Loco Fresh is a great lunch alternative to the Wind Jammer. We ate dinner at the Teppanyak Japanese's specialty restaurant during our cruise and it was fantastic. The touchless elevators need work. Many time a person would get to close and accidently select all floors. Put an option to deselect!! I would love to see a better utilization of retail space. More middle and low price offerings versus high end watch and purse stores. The shows were top notch. The itinerary was just OK. We were excited by the stop in DR, but were disappointed by the available shopping near the port. The submarine excursion in Aruba was well worth it. The stop in Curacao was to short. Understandable as we has two days on the sea to get back to Fort Lauderdale. The new superman zipline s at Labadee are a blast, but not cheap. It just seemed RC has cut food quality due to inflation. Perhaps they are feeling the pinch like everyone else. My advice get the key. Early embarking, debarkations and internet make it worth it. One more thing not RC fault! Parents control your kids. I saw unsupervised kids running up and down the hallways numerous times.

Cabin Review

Junior Suite with Balcony

Nice cabin. 1.5 Bath was a suprise. Tons of storage space.

Port Reviews

Aruba

Tons to do. Although Aruba is quite Westernized.
