A friend wanted to cruise on Celebrity and there were 8 of us that wanted to go on the Mexican Riviera cruise - 4 of us had done that cruise before on another cruise line, so we thought trying it on Celebrity would be fun. We booked last summer when cruise lines were giving super deals to get people cruising again. We got a Royal Suite on the Solstice for about the same price as a Neptune suite on Holland America. We had so many perks we couldn't use them all - fantastic OBC, paid gratuities, drink package, free wifi, free specialty dining (no limit), free laundry, a butler.
When we got to the port and dropped off our luggage we went to the suite waiting area, and within 5 minutes a host came to us and walked the 4 of us up the our rooms (the other 4 weren't at the port yet), showed us everything in the rooms, asked what he could get for us. . . . you name it and he did it for us.
Even though the ship is overdue for refurbishment, all of our rooms were in great condition - perhaps a little outdated, but in good shape. The only thing I didn't like about our suite cabin was that it is advertised s having a hot tub on the balcony - it was a jetted bathtub, not at all good for having friends over to sit in the "hot tub". Seemed silly to have a bathtub on the balcony.

The location was near the elevators but we never heard any noise from the elevators or people in the hallways. We love the Mexican Riviera cruise as a relaxing get away. In Cabo we love to do the whale watches in January - lots of whales. We've used Whale Watch Cabo twice and they never disappoint - top notch all the way!
The only thing a bit negative about Cabo is the pushy vendors.
I was a bit skeptical about Mazatlan this time because of the violence earlier in the month in different parts of Sinaloa, but all was safe and we had a great time. We went with a private van tour from Mazatlan Van Tours. They let us chose where we want to go, what to see and have suggestions along the way.
Mazatlan is a beautiful city and we enjoyed it there again.
