This was our 3rd cruise on Norwegian. Have cruised Carnival and Royal before Norwegian. We did a 7 day cruise to Dominican republic , Saint Thomas US V.I. and British V.I. Tortola. The cruise was just meh. We had been to all these ports before. Enjoyed ourselves in the Dom Rep and St Thomas. We did not go ashore in Tortola. The port call at Half Mppn Cay was cancelled due to the sea state.

The ship was very nice and very clean. Room steward was excellent. Overall the crew was very good. Polite, always cheerful. Bartenders were on spot everytime. We had a Club balcony suite. It seemed smaller than the last one we had on the Norwegian breakaway. Still comfortable.

Our major complaint was the food. Definitely not what we had come to expect on a Norwegian ship. OUr last cruise was on the Breakaway and the food was much superior to this cruise. That was pre covid. First night we had dinner in the Seafood specialty restaurant. The filet mignon I ordered was excellent. My wife ordered the lobster for an upcharge. Menu said 1.5 lb lobster. She got a tiny 4 maybe 5 ounce tail. Serving staff brought her another tail rightaway. However the lobster was horrid. Wife said it tasted like cardboard. They did ask her if she would like something else. She then ordered the seafood platter it was abit better. Still a big disappointment. Itsa terrible shame to go to a seafood restaurant and the beef is better than the seafood. Also the vegetables that were served did not look like any vegetables either of us had ever seen. Also awful. The food for the rest of the cruise just went downhill from there. However breakfast was pretty good. Its almost to hard to mess up breakfast food. This was bad enough that we are trying Holland America next.

Port Reviews

St. Thomas

We have always liked St Thomas. The beaches are wonderful. You can get there without booking an excursion thru the ship. Cabs are relatively inexpensive compared to ship excursion cost.
