We hadn't cruised in 10 years and have been looking at getting back into it. We've previously cruised as a couple on RCL and HAL. We're an early 40s married couple. We booked this 4 night mid-week trip to give Carnival a try. Never again! Everything about the ship was aggressively mediocre. Cleanliness was pretty bad (I love picking balls of ground-in blonde hair from my stateroom floor, and wiping sticky stuff off various surfaces), food was really not great, and the clientele was trashy and rude. Bingo was a joke (such low payouts and over in ~20 mins) and everything seemed overly crowded. The only half decent food was the Guy's Burger place and some of the selections from the deli.
The port days weren't too bad but places like Nassau and the excursions from there, like Blue Lagoon, are way oversold and way too crowded. 4 ships trying to share that tiny island is insane. Not enough washrooms or changing spaces.
Bimini was nice, even if the golf cart renters were super pushy. We did a snorkel excursion with Bimini Blue and had a good time with that, as it was a small group.
Cabin was dated and in desperate need of a deep clean. Spacious enough with lots of storage, but avoid if you don't like the occasional wafting sewage smell outside your room or the ship engine sounds/vibration.
Beautiful spot, I hope it stays that way with the incoming ships! The golf cart renters are a bit pushy and will chase you down.
Too crowded and hectic now. We went to the Blue Lagoon beach day and there were simply too many people. Trying to cram 4 ships worth of excursions on that tiny island is too much. A good portion of our day was wasted waiting in line for the (too few) bathrooms and the food.
