This was our 36th cruse and the first in 2 1/2 years due to COVID. We have taken our last five cruises on Celebrity (Equinox and Edge) and looked forward to our return to cruising for the first time on Reflection. Many of the small items expected were missing on this cruise. No champagne upon boarding, mediocre food, passengers smoking in their rooms. no french fries for the first 4 days. Limited menu in main dining and Oceanview buffet.
We had a balcony room that was clean and well taken care of. On our first day we were on our balcony when we smelled cigarette smoke coming from the stateroom next to ours. Since both of us are non-smokers and get ill just from the odor we asked our neighbors about their smoking and were told that they did what they pleased! In partial defense of Celebrity they did offer us another stateroom but it was too far forward on the ship and we needed a room near the aft section. Smokers were reported with no action taken by Celebrity.
On our first day we were offered a 30% discount if we booked a meal in the Tuscan. When we called to make reservations we were told they were all filled up in all of their specialty restaurants! Later in the cruise we were offered dining in the Tuscan and discovered on both nights that we went there was far from a full restaurant at our 6 pm requested time. The steak I had was good but my wife said the Italian meal she had was "lacking". On the second night the meal was horrible.
Balcony room that was clean and well maintained.
They are improving their port areas and it will be beautiful when they are finished.
Infrastructure is lacking . So many rough spots on the sidewalks due to storms. The great shopping deals are now a thing of the past.
Always a fun stop with decent shopping. Easy to walk around in the shopping district.
