We chose the cruise for the itinerary, it was a circumnavigation of Australia calling at many smaller ports. We were also led to believe that the food on Oceania was the best at sea. Our Christmas Day dinner was so poor that I was envious of all those people at home who were having a traditional Christmas Dinner. We had no sprouts, pigs in blankets, vegetables or gravy. The desserts were like something from the freezer section from farm foods. Such a disappointment.

The ship actually broke down whilst crossing the Australian bight. We lost power and unfortunately had a reservation at Toscana, they were unable to offer anything other than bread soup or salad.

The ship lost 4 ports of call one prior to the cruise the rest whist we were onboard, we were like other cruise ships caught for bio foiling and even though our cruise was not going to New Zealand, we lost 2 port days whilst our hull was cleaned so that it would meet the New Zealand requirements on its next cruise. We woke up expecting to be anchored off Kangaroo Island and even picked up tender tickets before the Captain told us we were not at kangaroo island and instead we were having our hull cleaned, No apologies no explanation.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View

The bed was so low that could not get the suitcases under it. One of the wardrobes would not close properly as the coat hangers supplied were too wide. Our minibar could not be restocked as they had run out of diet drinks and we had not pre ordered! No where on the pre cruise information did it ask for preferences.

Port Reviews

Bali

Booked a private tour with Dennis, had a great time.

The traffic in Bali was horrendous and very pleased we were on private tour.

Komodo Island

We used a local company for the tour and had a lovely day out. Also visited Pink beach and had an hour snorkelling.

Darwin

Tour Tubs provided a great day out, visiting the local museum and air museum plus a tour of Darwin.
