I will start with this is my 8th cruise and no stranger to the industry. I booked a suite for this cruise unlike all of my past were outside cabins. We arrived on the ship and were told our room was ready. Once on board the rooms were blocked off with a sign that stated no rooms would be ready until after 2pm. Ok, not the end of the world. At 3pm we went to our room to find out that we have an outside room not a suite. After a call to guest services they called it a family harbor suite , which carnival assigned to me, and it does not have a balcony. At the same time guest services stated there no suites open on this cruise. Strike one. A credit for the room rate difference should have been refunded in my opinion. So we settled in for our vacation and unpacked. We had great dinners every night in the dining room, hands down outstanding service and food. Came back from dinner and found 2 critters (roaches) crawling around the bathroom. I destroyed them and started a search around the cabin and didn't find any more. So the next day we went to find out how to get tickets for "bolt" and we were told it was down for maintenance. It never ran at all the entire cruise but we were strung along to be believe it would. That is why we booked the Mardi Gras was because of were it was going and the coaster. Strike 2. Day 2 went pretty well as long as you didn't mind doing steps. Way too many people on this ship even with like 20 elevators. There was a few "shows" thru out the cruise but could not get in to find a seat unless you arrived at least 30 minutes early. So on day 5 another critter was rolling along the counter and I got rid of him as well. Win a cruise bingo was a joke. 3 people ended up winning. So 2 people had to be eliminated because it would just be a total collapse of Carnaval if 3 cruises were given out. Keep in mind that it was between 35 and 59 dollars per person to play. Do the math. Last day of cruise we gathered our bags and were off the ship nice and early with our stuff. I live in PA so it was a nice 16 hour ride home and I was certain there would be bugs in our clothes so the bags were left outside overnight to be sure. Once the bags were unpacked the bugs were frozen with Temps in the 20s. We found 4 in the bags. So to sum it up Carnaval didn't give me the room I paid for but did give me some things I didn't pay for. I contacted guest post cruise service with an email and was told it could take up to 45 day for a response. Absolutely ridiculous. 45 Days. Also there is no phone number to contact them but if you want to book a cruise that number is posted all over there site. So I'm letting everyone know how Carnaval is treating there guest.
