Very enjoyable cruise, but some ports of call were disappointing.

First time with Azamara. We chose the cruise as we liked the itinerary around South Africa. Unfortunately one of the key ports of Durban was cancelled about a month before we departed due to the South Africans hosting the Russian navy…..

Cape Town was the highlight, and we enjoyed Maputo. We were very fortunate to have booked private tours from Richards Bay with a fantastic guide name Don Botterill who was mentioned on another review on this site. We went for a day to the Zululand and battle areas, it was one of the highlights of our trip to South Africa and we would highly recommend Don if anyone is looking for a private guide in that region, daytourskzn@gmail.com

We had a club continent suite which was excellent. All staff/crew were excellent also and we really enjoyed the food, both in the Discoveries restaurant and the Steak restaurant. Also the captain and senior officers were very visible and even had a question and answer session with the passengers which at times was quite challenging for them, but we thought was really good and have not experienced that on other cruise lines.

Excellent cabin. Would recommend the Club Continent Suite.
