We chose the cruise to sail with friends. We wanted to try the port of New Orleans and the price was right.
First, the positive. The club balcony room was great. shower had lots of pressure and multiple jets, which really impressed the men. The sink area was spacious, with Teo faucets. Marvin, our steward, was accommodating and friendly. Food was good, and we enjoyed all the free dining rooms as well as two specialty restaurants. Finding seats at the buffet was never a problem. we had many perks which made the cruise a good value.
On to the negatives. Almost all activity occurs in the Atrium. There is very limited seating, so usually a hundred or more people need to stand. It’s noisy. Sounds from the upstairs bar,, the air hockey from the game area, and conversations from the guest services, reservation desk, future cruise desk all blend into a cacophony. Other music clubs were always full or closed for private events so we had very few entertainment options unless we wanted to stand for a couple of hours in the Atrium
We have been there before so we got a cab. The driver offered to take us around the island for a flat fee, we stopped by a tequila facility ( interesting) and saw a private resort and the beautiful southern point with huge waves Fr surfing.
