We chose this cruise (Northern Pearls) as it came up on a 'Black Friday' deal for £399 each for a balcony cabin. We were up for a winter break away, have cruised many times and the thought of rougher seas didnt phase us . We packed for cold and set off.

1. The ship was very well heated - no need for those jumpers!

2. The ship was the most stable weve ever been on. We had a F9 gale and it barely moved. Some slight creaking in the cabin but that was it, you would never have known. The night before the captain put out a gloom and doom message saying be careful when walking round, and you may hear vibrations etc, but there was nothing we were really impressed.

Cabin Review

Cabin was very clean, roomy, comfortable. We were deck 7, aft, port side. Balcony was a good size though chairs were upright style - fine for our January trip but in warmer climes you may want a recliner.

Weve always had forward or mid cabins before and had been a little concerned that being so close to the aft end wed get a lot of engine vibration etc, but not a bit of it, it was quiet and serene.

The wardrobes are big enough for a week - they are actually bigger than they appear on the youtube videos we watched! but again being a winter cruise i wasnt trying to hang summer dresses or anything, it was more folded tops etc, so that may be something to consider. The shower was a good size, the bathroom itself was a little cramped - you were kind of sat an angle on the loo which wasnt ideal tbh. But it was serviceable and beautifully clean.

The one improvement id make would be to the lighting at the dressing table - its too far back so when youre trying to do your makeup etc youre in your own light - i ended up applying makeup in the bathroom.
