Our honeymoon cruise was chosen, most of all, for the fine reputation of RCCL. We were surprised to find that too many experiences were annoying, disappointing and most of all, could have been corrected in real time but were not corrected at all. While we believe that cruising is a viable type of cost-controlled vavationing, we cannot see ourselves returning to RCCL given the many fine choices that exist in the industry.
Some of the many correctable flaws and disappointments included dining reservations not honored, canceled excursions, lack of basic cleanliness in the cabin and absence of complimentary toiletries and related amenities. With a full ship, the venues would have been crushed. We were surprised and annoyed to observe (and smell) that smoking was allowed in several places; it's not 1973 anymore but 2023.
Positives included the embrakation and debarkation experiences, speciality restaurants, excursion diversity and efficiency, entertainment shows in the evenings, and some onboard activites such as sushi-making.
Our cabin was small, not clean (and not properly cleaned each day) and lacked basic toiletries and related expected ameneties,
