The pre-planning for this trip was a nightmare. They changed my outbound and return flights 3 times, gave me an 11 hr layover, and then changed my flights the day before I was supposed to leave, so I lost all my seat upgrades; And they refused to accommodate my request for the upgrades on the new flights. They treated me like I was stupid when I asked questions about meeting guides at airports for transfers and no one seemed to know why my itinerary on their web site is never updated or accurate. Every time I called, they start quoting me my travel companions itinerary and it was a struggle to get any kind of answer. and this occurred BEFORE I had even left for the trip! I would not recommend this outfit for anyone, as I feel that I am making all my own arrangements. Why am I paying them such a huge amount of money for lousy service? They should be catering to their clientele, for the amount of money this trip costs. And I would recommend NOT using Viking Air and book your own airfare. The only good thing I can say, is that on the return flight, they were able to switch me to a more direct flight on a different airline, last minute, when weather threatened to delay me elsewhere. But, again, they refused to upgrade me even though I have $ and points to use on the new airline and seats were available. I'm trying to get away and relax and this all just added to my stress. I'd rather have spent my money with another agency who might actually do their job properly. 0 stars for all the lousy pre trip planning.

So, onto the actual cruise:

Based on the pre-trip experience, I had very low expectations. I am not a "cruiser" and prefer much more active vacations, but I will say that the crew and staff did try to keep things interesting. On-board entertainment was in the way of science talks, and some light entertainment in two of the lounges/bars. They did provide 2 movie nights, streamed the football games on Sunday and provided a trivia night and game show night that were very amusing.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Nordic Balcony

Cabin was nice, but water sloshed all over the bathroom floor when ship was moving. We had to be supplied with extra towels all the time to mop up the floor. Also, the bathroom light would not turn off, so repairmen had to be called immediately to correct the issue.
