This was our 17th cruise. We have been on a variety of ships and most of the major cruise lines. This was our first trip on Norwegian and will probably be our last.

Free Style is the theme buzzword for Norwegian. You have restaurants of every imaginable type, but they come at a cost. Upcharges range from $10-$25 per person, but that just gets you in the door. At Cagney's Steakhouse, if you want surf and turf or a couple of other options, there is an additional $10 upcharge on top of what you already paid. That's an extra $35 for something we have had on other cruises in the main dining room. We ate most of our meals in the main dining rooms where the food was nothing more than average.

There were other various upcharges, one of which was for a behind-the-scenes tour of the ship, again something I have done on other cruise lines at no charge.
