We've never been on the Rhine but were on the Danube with Viking. On this trip, Viking continued to provide outstanding service, immaculate boats, terrific food, and interesting day trips. We particularly enjoyed the pre-trip and post-trip experiences. These enabled us to go at a slower pace, and were enhanced by a Viking guide.

On board, the dining was excellent. The atmosphere was relaxed and peaceful, the service outstanding. Food choices included local fare and some American alternatives. Admittedly, I enjoyed the daily choice of local fare and did not try the American alternatives. We enjoyed the al fresco choice at breakfast and lunch at the front of the boat, when possible.

Rooms were immaculate. The staff serviced the rooms while we were gone. Honestly, there was so much to do, we were rarely in our room. But when we were, it was always clean. The public areas were easy to access and welcoming. Beverages and snacks were available. Read more
