I have been on over 20 cruises. I love cruising. I have cruised on Celebrity, NCL, Princess, RCL, Windstar and Carnival. I picked this cruise because of the ports. Puerto Rico, St Thomas, St Kitts, St Lucia (was replaced with Dominica) Antigua, Barbados and Dominican Republic. It was a twelve-day cruise, and I traveled solo in a club balcony room. There was a solo group meet up each night at 5PM but I didn't attend so I cannot report back on those meetings. I did meet several people who did go to these meet ups and said they were great for meeting other singles and the NCL organizer also made group reservations for the solo cruisers to some of the shows and restaurants.

I purchased the Thermal Suite for the week, the Vibe Beach Club area for the week, a NCL excursion for each port and I had included with my package 3 specialty restaurants (I chose Cagney's, Moderno and Teppanyaki) and the unlimited beverage package. I upgraded my wifi to the unlimited but not streaming package. I did not have any issues uploading photos to my family at home. To say I was ready to have a great vacation would be an understatement. The ports were all great, no complaints. Most had the same port shops and sold the same stuff. First two days at sea were a little chilly and the Thermal Spa came in handy. I went to Cagney's the second night on board. I asked the waiter for a recommendation between the filet and ribeye, and he suggested the ribeye. I also ordered the garlic mushrooms and the scalloped potatoes for my sides and the shrimp for my appetizer. The sides and shrimp were incredible! The steak...not so much. I tried to eat as much as I could of the ribeye, but it was tough with little flavor. I was super bummed because I love a good steak.

I went to Syd Norman's Pour House the first night it was open with the band (I think it was the second sea day). I love a good rock band and they did not disappoint. I went to see them again when they showcased Rumors album from beginning to end later in the cruise. If you can see this show, don't miss it! I highly recommend the Million Dollar Quartet as well. Some of the other shows were okay but not good enough to recommend. I went to the Vibe Beach Club the second day at sea. It was very very windy and so the umbrellas could not be used without a chance of someone being injured. There was one server for the entire area. I made sure to bring $5 bills so I would be remembered and checked on often for much needed refill on drinks. It seemed like the server was often helping the bartender and in order to get drinks, I often went to the bar instead of waiting for the server to make his rounds. The drinks were good. Service spotty. The Vibe bar opened at 9:00AM which gave me time to stop at the Thermal Spa each morning, which opened at 8AM and get my hour in the steam room and salt cave each day.

Family Mini-Suite with Balcony

NCL Club balcony suite #11838 Getaway. This was once called the mini suite. The balcony is very small and just big enough for two upright chairs and a small 12x12 table. I have always had a balcony when cruising but this balcony wasn't big enough for two people to actually enjoy in my opinion. The balcony wasn't much deeper than my chair and knees. The bathroom was nice! Double wide sink and large shower with sliding glass door and rain shower head and body jets. I also received a plate of snacks twice during the 12 day cruise. Sweets, chocolate covered strawberries and cookies, a bottle of sparkling wine, and a free bag of laundry. Nice perks for the Club Balcony Suite. I was mid ship starboard side.
