My wife and I just returned from our 11th Princess cruise departing from FTL aboard Regal Princess on January 29 for 7 nights. This is our second cruise on this ship; we last sailed on the Regal four years ago just before Covid hit. We like the overall layout of this ship and we observed it was very clean and well maintained! The onboard entertainment was excellent, both in the main theatre and in the Piazza. Our room was a deluxe balcony on the Dolphin deck. The actual room balcony is smaller than other balconies, and the bathroom is typical Princess Cruise size which is a little smaller than baths on other cruise lines. The large cabin TV was nice and the medallion worked great to unlock your cabin each time you approached. Our cabin steward was excellent!

Let’s talk about food! We ate in Sabatini’s Italian speciality restaurant one night and paid the $25 upcharge for each. It was worth it and the food and service was excellent! The International Cafe near the Piazza was also excellent for a snack every night. However, we encountered a problem for first three nights with “Dine My Way” in The Concerto Main Dining Room. Long lines and 20 minute waits to get in the dining room on first three nights. We kept requesting (even before the cruise) a permanent dining table and same wait staff at the same time each night. But for first three nights we were moved around to different tables and wait staff. Finally on fourth night we got a permanent table with a great waiter. Then on 7th night we walked in to our table and it was already occupied by another couple! So again, it appeared there was total chaos in the Concerto Dining Room during our cruise. “My Time Dining” was a total bust! Overall food in main dining was OK, but menus have definitely been reduced since before Covid sailings. The buffet was good, and we especially liked the create your own omlette service in Horizon Court for breakfast.

This was our 26th cruise overall and 3rd in the past year. Princess has lost a step or two but hopefully they are on their way back!

Cabin Review

Deluxe Balcony

Deluxe Balcony…smaller bathroom/shower. Smaller balcony. Great TV and soft bed.

Port Reviews

Grand Turk

We chose this cruise itinery because we had not been to Amber Cove or Grand Turk. Frankly, we will not go back to Amber Cove as there is not much there. Grank Turk waters and scenery is beautiiful. We did the snorkling excursion and it was good.
