As an IT manager at a university, the only time I can really make a clean break from work is over the winter holidays – and the pandemic put a damper on that. Our last winter break cruise was on Celebrity Summit for the December 2019 – January 2020 break. When the pandemic started releasing its effect on traveling and cruising was opening up we went looking and found a 14-night sailing from Miami on Azamara Onward. Although most of our cruises have been on Royal Caribbean and Celebrity, we had taken a cruise on Azamara Journey in the spring of 2019 and were looking forward to another one. And this would give us a chance to try a ship new to us (and recently acquired by Azamara from Princess) and also to see if the experience had changed as a result of Sycamore’s acquisition of Azamara from Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines Ltd. (RCCL, now called RCG for Royal Caribbean Group)
