It's been a long cold winter and I needed a warm getaway. The Ruby Princess had just started sailing from Galveston to the western caribbean, they were offering great rates and OBC, so I jumped on it. This was my 10th cruise and 2nd cruise on Princess in the last 2 months. I traveled solo in a balcony cabin on Baja deck 11 forward.

I flew into Houston Hobby a day prior and spent the night at the Doubletree airport hotel with a free shuttle. It was very comfortable and clean, with excellent customer service and really good food in their on-site restaurants. I took their shuttle back to the airport (5 minute ride) on embarkation day to catch the Princess transfer to Galveston. Super easy process and well worth the $54 each way cost. We arrived at the port around 12 noon, dropped bags with a porter and walked into the terminal. I had done all the check-in process on the app, so straight to the green lane. My medallion had arrived in the mail, so check-in was less than 2 minutes, and I was on-board in less than 10 minutes.

I went straight to my cabin, dropped off my carry on bag, watched the safety briefing on the tv, and off to explore the ship. I had just sailed on the Sapphire Princess in November so everything was pretty familiar, with only a few minor differences on the layout of the ship.

Belize City

I did the Xunantunich MayanRuins tour. It was wonderful! It's a long bus ride, but you get to see a lot of Belize. I climbed the 143 steps to the top of El Castillo tower. It was strenuous but so worth it! The view is amazing and exilerating!! The Belizean lunch was really good and our guides were awesome!

Cozumel

Took the Aqua Twister boat to Passion Island and it was the highlight of the trip! So much fun, the island is beautiful, the water is gorgeous, and it was all you can eat and drinks included too. The crew were so friendly and so entertaining. Wear a swimsuit, as you will get soaked! Best shore excursion ever!

Roatan

Beautiful port, lots of shopping and eating places. The chairlift to the beach was the highlight. I would highly recommend it. The beach is small and packed with chairs and people. We were in port with the mega Carnival Celebration so it was a zoo! Too many people for me, I went back and enjoyed the empty ship.
