We have done the Mexican Rivera many times, we live in AZ now so just drive over to San Diego and jump on a ship :). We have cruised many times on NCL so kind of knew the vibe just hadn't been on this one. As we had booked only 3 days before boarding we didn't have much of a choice in staterooms- ended up in an inside one- but had an amazing steward named Mark who helped keep us tidy. Bed was comfy, bathroom & storage adequate for us for the week.

We found there are 2 MDR on this ship- The Azura & Tsar's Palace- having looked at some photos on line I thought the Azura would be more of what we would like- boy was I wrong- we ate there only once- the first night- what a fiasco- the noise in the restaurant was nothing short of deafening- we had to yell to speak to one another even though we were at a tiny table for 2- wait staff must have been overwhelmed, orders wrong, hubby's main course came 15 minutes before mine (I had pasta) and we never got the coffee we ordered....anyway learned our lesson & ate in Tsar's Palace every night after & even had breakfast there. The staff was nothing short of amazing- food was quite good. The reason I thought we wouldn't like it was that is was pretty large & the décor kind of turned me off....but the staff , wine and food made up for it.

Shows were OK- they had an acrobatic couple that was great as well as a Philippino band that played on the main stage as well as one of the bars that was excellent, comedian not so much- started the show off good then downhill pretty fast. Would hope that at some time they can find a way to do the Movies Under the Stars- there were quite a few other passengers who said the same to me
