Friends chose the NCL cruise out of NYC and since I had cruised many times with NCL I was happy to join them. Sadly my experience on this cruise was far below my expectations with NCL. This is what I would consider a no frills cruise.
Below is what I experienced on this cruise.
1- Breakfast in the two dining rooms, Savory and Taste were always cold, pancakes, waffles, frenchtoast & coffee. They had to be returned to the kitchen almost every day to be warmed up.
Our Cabin Steward was very good and always made sure we had what we needed. He even brought us ice when my friend had a problem with her knee. Our cabin was always cleaned, with fresh towels provided when asked.
Friends invited me to go on this cruise and since I had cruised on NCL more that 25 times I was very enthusiastic. However, because Norwegian had a scheduling problem at this port we were relegated to the dock/container yards instead of the port terminal. This impacted our Trolley Tour because we sent 1/2 hr driving through a very busy container yard and the tour was only 1.5 hrs. Also, we were not able to see much f St. Lucia because of this. When all 14 of us requested a refund, we were told that the best NCL could do was a 30% discount which resulted in a $13-15 reduction which was unacceptable and it was only given to each room not the person so only a ffew of us received even this accomidation.
