We travel quite a bit but were never on a river cruise. The adult only ship and itinerary were everything we imagined and more. Our initial meeting hotel in Lisbon was beautiful and we were welcomed with open arms. Viking took care of us from start to finish - they literally thought of everything. Their tour guides were prompt, professional and extremely knowledgeable. We were fascinated with the ship's bridge dropping down to get under the low bridges and through the lock system. The food and wine on the cruise were outstanding. The menu was diverse enough to even satisfy our travel friends finicky appetites. We booked the days in Lisbon prior to boarding the ship. The beauty and history were abundant. We visited the small town of Favaios which is not to be missed as well as the tour to our Lady of Fatima. The Mateus Palace and grounds were breathtaking with so much history. The wine tours were extremely informative and of course the tasting were delicious. We never felt rushed and always had time to explore on our own.
