we chose this cruise in the hope that Viking attention to safety during pandemic would make this a safe venture. we were rewarded with great weather, wonderful service, spectacular sights, and a memorable trip. Every stop was lovely and excursions were all worthwhile. Meals on the ship were excellent (we stuck with World Cafe for almost every meal). Regensburg was an excellent starting point - walkable, small scale, easy to explore by wandering around a bit. Highlights in Passau were an organ concert in cathedral, and an e-bike excursion with a friendly, low-key group and excellent guides. Vienna highlights were the art museum and walking through historic city center. Bratislava was fascinating, friendly, walkable. Budapest (with extension) has lots to explore, but transit is good. We recommend the baths, Castle Hill and a tour of Parliament. Marriott Hotel on the Danube is terrific and local Viking office provided great local advice and assistance. Staff on the Jarl was helpful and attentive. Cabin was spacious and impeccable. We feel very lucky about our timing, especially since friends took same cruise in September when low water in Danube caused serious issues with itinerary.
