This trip began with an extension to Oberammagau to see the Passion Play. The overall trip was excellent. This was the second time on the Einar - we had been on it in the Spring. The staff was different and much more attuned to the needs and desires of the guests. Some of the crew was on the spring run and they actually remembered us. It was nice to see friendly, known, faces among the crew. Our shore excursions were all very good. However, we do wish we would have had a little more time to do some exploring/shopping after the tours. We have had a lot of experience with the audiovox communication systems and this trip was no exception - we had no problem with them and they made the shore excursions much better. The guides were local and really knew their areas. We got to see some things that others may miss. The food service has changed due to the threats of the COVID pandemic so we had to adjust. The quality of the food was just as good. But - I miss the breakfast buffet.

One thing was a bit detracting, but not much. Due to the water level in the river, we often had to port at a place that was not as convenient as the usual dock. Viking handled this very well.

Well designed, plenty of outlets for chargers, laptops, etc.
