I have FCC left over from Covid cancelations so it is a use it or loose it deal. I wanted to try Galveston port which I understand Princess has recently returned to. Last time here was 2007 for me. So I booked everything rom airfare to hotel, transfers, cruise, Princess plus package, no insurance. Flew from Chicago Saturday, day before. Went to luggage, man with a Princess sign waiting for me also sent me texts. Got my bag and he called the driver over. To my surprise I got a private car ride from IAH Bush to the Marriot. Trip took about one and one half hour. Welcome Princess desk at hotel, checked in, nice room first floor. Bus to ship schedule 10:30 AM. Hotel has a full kitchen and bar. No breakfast included, Bought dinner in hotel, nothing else within walking distance. Watched NFL playoff games which lasted into the night. Morning ride to ship on a bus about 30 minutes. arrived 11:15.

Hint: when you get off the bus, the porter is there to take your bags. Some folks opted not to and then you have to drag all your stuff around till the cabins are ready at about 1 PM. For the few buck tip, it's well worth it. The bags then show up later in the room.

By the way this is number 10 for me on Princess, Platinum, first solo. Balcony room midship deck 12 aloha. Retired. cruise number 21. Other favorite NCL.
