First time back cruising after Covid. Wanted to dip our toes in to see how it was. And I was pleasantly surprised. We had booked a Byron Bay Mini Suite because I wanted to try out the club area. But a week before the cruise we were given an upgrade to a Suite. Don’t know why? But hey, I’ll take it.

I had read all the reviews on this forum and was a bit concerned about what we would find. But it was fine. P&O don’t try to be a 5star silver service line. They dish out cheap and cheerful which is exactly what we experienced. A fun cruise. Lots of laughter, lots of lovely people to chat to. All having fun. (Except for one lady who gave me an ear bashing and whinged for 10 full minutes by the pool).

So - reflecting on the comments that I had read from other reviews. Yes the ship is older - it was built in 2000. The refurbishment freshened up the ship. New chairs, new wallpaper, new carpet, fresh paint. That’s cheap and cheerful.
