Norwegian escape review:
I just spent a week on the escape in the Haven touring the Dominican republic US and British Virgin Islands with a scheduled stop for the Norwegian owned island in the Bahamas that was canceled due to weather. First of all we got the Haven room at a break in the normal cost as we booked it close to the departure date. Was it worth it? Definitely yes. Top notch food and service in the Haven Restaurant, personalized butler room service, access to Haven pool area which was never overcrowded unlike the ship which was near maximum capacity. The Haven concierge was fantastic also was able to access reserve seating to any show which guaranteed excellent seating. The staff on the ship is outstanding, overworked, but outstanding. The room we had was great and very roomy.
The cruise itself was enjoyable, with the beaches at US and British Virgin Islands being top notch. However the excursion in the Dominican Republic was not enjoyable having been taken to a beach where we were constantly bombarded by natives begging us to buy their goods for the full time we were on the beach at a supposedly private location. It was the most expensive of the excursions we took and the most disappointing.
