This was my 4th cruise on the Riviera. I was delighted by the cabin refurbishments. The newly modeled bathroom was perfectly done. I was in a regular veranda stateroom on the 7th floor. Where the bathtub used to be is now a beautiful huge shower. Where the old shower used to be is now 4 huge drawers under a countertop. The bedroom has a ton more storage then it used to have. We actually had empty drawers! The beds were super comfortable and the closet was done so that it lights up when you open the closet doors. There are all updated outlets to accomodate your phone and other things. I do think they missed the mark when it comes to the veranda furniture. Same uncomfortable 2 chairs with a table.
The public areas all have new carpet and reupholstered chairs which is all beautifully done. The pool chairs are still the same chairs, which are fine. The food is all still excellent, with plenty of variety. We had a disappointing meal at one specialty restaurant, but other then that every meal was delicious.
If you are using the gym, you won't be disappointed. Alexandra was the best I've had on this ship. I took all six of the spinning classes she taught, and she's really a delight. She's enthusiastic and seems to love her job. She's engaging and and she actually takes the time to learn everyone's name.
