The Prima is a beautiful ship, but it became apparent that form over function was in play. The Ocean Blvd was cool, but the Casino was cramped and unappealing. Syd Norman's was a disaster - no seating, crowded, claustrophobic. So was the Improv. The Premrose atrium was underwhelming and unattractive. I stayed in the Haven 2-bedroom Owner's suite and was disappointed with many things: a wall with 2 flat panels that broke up the dining room and living room, making both places cramped and not usable and worthy of a top suite. The master bathroom was a disaster: cramped tub that was difficult to use, two wash basins that left no room for toiletries, the flat sinks that were useless for anything other than splashing water over the bathroom, very slippery floor in the shower (the view was amazing). Again, form over function was evident everywhere on the ship. The food in the Haven was good, with several outstanding dishes, but the same damn menu for 7 days is not what I would consider appropriate for a luxury price.
The staff in the Haven was excellent. The staff in the Casino was cold, rude, indifferent. Elsewhere I got warm smiles. The Donna Summer show in the theater was good, but not up to Broadway standards. Don't be fooled by the promotional materials or 'good' reviews.' I will not return to the Prima, certainly a poor value for me. YMMD.
