We chose the advertised Itinerary because having been to the Caribbean before this two week package offered visits to Belize, Cosumei, Guatemala and some other places we had not been to before.

After a 2hr 50min outward flight delay (reasons offered were dubiously received by passengers) we arrived on board ship and were told immediately that the Cosumei visit on day 6 was abandoned - nothing was said prior to flight. But we didn't realise what was to follow!

After 4 days and adjustments to the week 1 itinerary because of the Cosumei cancellation, we were told the itinerary for week 2 (comm. 17.1.23) was 100% abandoned due to weather/sea conditions. But we believe that was a fob-off - an excuse, not the real reason. Based on information offered by a senior staff member the side thrusters on the ship were not working and had been broken for several weeks prior to our outward flight. That meant the ship could not enter some ports unassisted and TUI knew that before we flew out.. But again, nothing was said prior to our departure. However, and given we were already on board, we learned that guests due to arrive the following week (17.1.23) were offered the chance to cancel without penalty or transfer to another TUI holiday, or accept the same compensation we had been offered. But that in itself was grossly unfair because the folk we spoke to had paid c.£1500 for an inside cabin whereas the cost of our junior suite was several times that price.
