This is our 14th Oceania cruise. We booked a 15th cruise and I wish we hadn't. 15 is "gold." One of the perks was supposed to be a complimentary massage. I just looked, and it seems they are no longer honoring that. It seems to have disappeared from their web page. Since we were last on the Riviera the prices have been pumped up to the point of painful. A massage is around $225 or more for 50 minutes. I say "around" because they don't advertise the prices. You must inquire. After giving Oceania a great big chunk of our discretionary income over the last 10 years, I was really looking forward to that free massage.

The re-design is basically nice but it left me with a big problem. I walk with a cane and my crooked spine told me a long time ago: "Don't sleep on a soft mattress. You'll regret it." There are nice new mattresses with pillow tops that can't be removed. I went so far as to sleep on the floor one night but hey! I'm 77 years old. Getting up off the floor in the middle of the night to go winky tink was not an easy proposition. The cabin steward has been an absolute angel, trying to solve a problem that doesn't seem to have any good solutions.

The Grand Dining Room at breakfast is astonishlngly screwed up.The food when it finally arrives is cold, it's not what you ordered. . . . time after time. The dining room staff seem to be doing the best they can. Service in the evening is much better but here's a tip: If you order the veal piccata or limone or marsalla be sure to ask for a pair of shoelaces. Okay, okay, too sarcastic.
