My husband and I had long wanted to explore the North Atlantic as we both have ancestors from that region. We have traveled with Viking before and experienced exceptional tours, service and experiences. This trip was planned for May of 2020, and of course we had to sit back and wait with the rest of the world until science could provide protection from the COVID virus. Though we were impatient to go, we were impressed with the steps Viking took to protect their passengers once they re-instated their journeys, and so we embarked conmfortably in early August, 2022. Did the enforced wait enhance our delight in our cruise experiences? Perhaps, but we were so excited to be in the glorious fjords of Norway, the haunting not quite barren beauty of the Faroe Islands, and exotic and striking landscapes of Iceland, we looked forward to the adventures of each new day and new locale with great anticipation. Even the winds in Alesund, Norway did not diminish our enthusiasm. As before on our long boat excursion from Budapest to Amsterdam, Viking provided excellent service in every way on our Scandinavian cruise. The tour guides were great, the food was excellent - loved the Norwegian fare at Momsen's - and the ship was far beyond our expectations. The staff is exceptionally trained and kind, and puts up with the demands of passengers with far more patience than deserved! We feel safe with Viking in every way. So much so, we have arranged for two more excursions in 2023 and 2024. Thank you, Viking. You have made us feel safe to continue to travel to places we have dreamed of.
