Sail Date: Nov 2022
Cabin: Deluxe Stateroom

My partner gets sea-sick in a tea cup. So we chose for our first cruise after 77 years on no cruising with Viking on the Rhine in November/2022 - where we chose a stateroom at the waterline/middle of the barge, and Aase my partner had no problem as we encountered no waves. The state room was well equipped and organized and since travelling in November had no need for balcony. Everything on the tour went perfect. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, the choices for Lunch were large and always good, and the dinner by our Austrian Chef were excellent. We were upgraded to the Premium Wines, and we found most of them of high quality and delicious taste. Maybe you could add another good Rhine and good Mosel/Saar/Ruwer Riesling to the repertoire. The 6 tours included in the price were all great and with experienced guides, and we enjoyed all 6. - And when Airfare from Portland to Amsterdam and back from Zurich was included we could not say no to go.

The predinner talks were enjoyable, and the after dinner entertainment was great, and Elizabeth kept us informed and entertained with games and quizzes. We saw as expected a lot of castles and a lot of Cathedrals, but the Rhine tour was definitely great choice for our first cruise.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Stateroom

Cabin was well equipped with all we needed except perhaps for a pouch of washing power to perhaps wash your underwear. As stated above we found a room a water level and in the middle of the barge to prevent waves from affetion our trip, and we truly enjoyed even our stay in the cabin, which was mostly when we went to sleep, as so much was offered that we spent most time doing things.
