Reason to take this trip: The opportunity to travel on 3 bodies of water and see places we had never been to before. We were booked into a lower cabin (our choice) and it was perfect for the amount of time we spent in it. The included tours were so informative and the local tour guides provided insight & local knowledge that we missed on our two previous visits to Cologne. The weather was unusually hot (high 90's the whole trip), and the possibility of ship-swapping did not happen. Yea! The good & bad news: Day 4 we tested positive for Covid and the ship Manager upgraded us to a veranda so, as she put it "you need fresh air" - at no additional charge. The crew took such incredible care of us - bringing all of our meals, lots of bottles of water, clean sheets (we changed them ourselves) and constant contact to make sure we were doing all right. 5 days of quarantine, and we were able to join tours in Vienna. We missed 4 stops, but were able to view the sights from our veranda. We spent 2 extra nights in Budapest, and the Viking staff at the Castle District Hilton were, as usual, outstanding. Departing from Budapest, was during the time all the flights around the world were being cancelled and/or changed. Viking got us on new flights and we arrived home without any additional delays...we were lucky. Since our return, Viking has contacted us - a real person, on the phone - to just make sure "everything is all right" -- it is and we will definitely continue to cruise with Viking.
we started in a "F" and ended up in a veranda. There was plenty of storage space, the beds are so comfortable, and the amenities were great.
