This was our second Viking river cruise - and it won't be our last! Our first was on the Rhein in December 2021, and we enjoyed amazing Christmas markets, despite mask mandates on and off our ship. This time around was much more relaxed - no masks required! We started in Regensburg, Germany and enjoyed several smaller towns/cities before heading to Vienna for 2 days and finishing in Budapest. Every port was wonderful, and the complimentary walking tours were informative and gave a good overview of each destination. We greatly enjoyed the Strauss music and dancing performance in Vienna (an optional excursion), and the walking tours gave us confidence to explore Vienna and Budapest on our own. The food was outstanding and even better than on our 2021 cruise - pretty much every dish was a 9 or 10 - and we enjoyed the complimentary wine with meals. The staff members worked tirelessly to serve with excellence and always had a wonderfully helpful attitude. On this cruise, we opted for the cheapest room with a window toward the top of the wall. Honestly, we were absolutely fine with this and did not feel claustraphobic - especially since we were out so often in public areas of the ship and off the ship for excursions. Of course, it was cold outside, so a balcony room wasn't very tempting. We so appreciate being able to unpack on the first day and not worry about packing for every destination! We also love Viking's all-inclusive pricing - apart from tips - which means we didn't have a hefty credit card bill when we returned home. Viking pretty much thinks of everything - complimentary umbrellas on rainy days, calling taxis for those who are extending their vacation on their own, etc. (The only suggestion I would make is for them to incude a magnifying mirror for makeup.) We made friends with several couples on board and continue with a group text thread to this day. In fact, we're planning to take another Viking cruise in France with one of the couples we befriended. Highly recommended!

Cabin Review

Deluxe Stateroom

The cabin was very compact, but extremely well-designed with a place for everything and storage under the bed for even large suitcases. There is ample closet space plus a safe and lots of shelves in the bathroom for toiletries.
