Our cruise overall was very good. The Star being built in 2015 and Vikings oldest ocean ship is still in lovely condition, as the crew is continually doing upkeep and maintenance. There are many comfortable public areas to sit and relax to where one would never realize there are ~900 passengers onboard. The quality of musical entertainment was outstanding. We had some great nights in the Torshavn night club listening and dancing to the Viking Band with Zee and Maria as the singers. All of the band members were very talented. There was also a really good acoustic guitar player and singer named Alan that we enjoyed listening to. Each of the restaurants served good food with very good service. The buffet in the World Cafe was our least favorite but good if you got the dishes when they first came out (typical for buffet). It was amazing that only after a couple of days some of the staff remembered us and always greeted us by name. We had the silver spirits package and a small nit-pick was sometimes it felt as though we were invisible to some servers, as there were several times that I would have to go to the bar to order. The only other nit-pick I had was the lack of good comfortable seating in our suite. For soft seating there was only one very small couch which would be comfortable for a child or small person, but for adults, not so much. The loungers on our suites veranda were very nice however. Our stateroom attendant was very friendly and took exceptional care of us, always referring to us by name and she and her assistant kept our suite spotless! It was an awesome experience for our very first cruise and I believe we will be doing another. Oh, one thing though, we splurged for the ES1 suite for our anniversary and after experiencing that I think we are now well spoiled!
