This cruise, from Amsterdam to Budapest, had long been on my bucket list. My wife, not so much….at first. We have done a number of ocean cruises but this exceeded OUR wildest expectations. It was our first river cruise and clearly our best vacation ever. My wife had a lot of trepidation but at the end, like me, said it was her best vacation ever, for both of us. From the pre-cruise accommodations in Amsterdam to our last day in Budapest Viking has it down and did a wonderful job.

We went in May and water levels were never an issue. Breakfast, lunch and dinner never left us wanting. The crew on our ship were fantastic. I was trying to think of something I/we that we didn’t like, but it was perfect. We were spoiled by Viking.

We did indulge in the Silver beverage package and it suited us well. We initially had the lowest level cabin and upgrade to the French window, no balcony, and it suited us perfectly. And the heated bathroom floors was very nice. Read more
